About the Contest:

The Mt Airy Directory offers citizens a connection to local businesses. Many of these advertisers invest in the community through charities and community activities.

Proceeds from Directory are steered back into the community through the Kiwanis service organization. Everything Kiwanis does is dedicated to improving the world, one child and community at a time. Our local Kiwanis supports children through special projects like local school leadership programs, Scout community projects, international charities, and other community projects. The Kiwanis motto is ”Serving the Children of the World”.

 

In 2021, the Mt. Airy Directory hosted a children’s art contest for the cover, with a theme of the community from their perspective. The contest was open to all children with a Mount Airy address, or who attend school within the Mt. Airy region. One prize was awarded to the winning student and school and the artwork was used for the Directory cover.

Although we did not run the contest for the 2024 edition of the Directory, we will bring back the contest for the next Directory's season.

1st place prize: 

• $100 cash prize for artist

• $100 cash prize for art department of registered school (or charity of choice if homeschooler)

• Art work displayed on the cover of the Mt Airy Directory

• Art work displayed on mtairydirectory.net and mtairykiwanis.org

2nd - 4th place prizes:

• Art work displayed on mtairydirectory.net and mtairykiwanis.org
